SECI & Frankfurt Zoological Society

All Indonesian projects presented on the SECI website are implemented by Alexander Moßbrucker (SECI president) and Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS). Alex has worked in close cooperation with the FZS Indonesian Program from 2008. The focus of the Indonesian program led by Dr. Peter Pratje is on the reintroduction of Sumatran Orangutans and the conservation of the Bukit Tigapuluh ecosystem (please see FZS´s Orangutan Reintroduction Project for further information).

Since early 2010, Alex has lead the elephant conservation & research project "Towards a Peaceful Coexistnece between People and Elephants" run by FZS in Bukit Tigapuluh, Sumatra (download an article about the project published in FZS Gorilla January 2011). Alex´s work in Indonesia is strongly supported by Peter Pratje and the whole FZS team in Jambi (Sumatra) and Frankfurt (Germany). In addition, Alex is supported by Dr. Jörns Fickel, molecular biologist at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (Berlin, Germany).
